I am a big fan of hidden spots. There is something mysterious and exclusive about it. The idea of separating from the crowd in a quiet spot, where you can read and free your mind translates into my perfect Saturday morning. Living close to Alexanderplatz made me even more eager to discover such unique, but clandestine places. One of my recent discoveries is a small restaurant with a lovely and greenish courtyard – Fathers Carpenters Coffee Brewers.

Slathering through the streets of Mitte I accidentally noticed an entrance to courtyard with some shops. Tempted by the red-bricked buildings I decided to enter and check out what is hidden in there. On the wall I noticed huge bluish graffiti artwork and immediately wanted to check what is that place called Fathers Carpenters Coffee Brewers.
It was completely empty when I came in, but quickly become super crowded. I was seated close to the intriguing sculpture. The first thing I noticed was the design of the place. Wood, greyish tones, whitish plaids, hanging lamps, simplicity and these industrial metal chairs are the dominating motives of Fathers Carpenters Coffee Brewers. The place itself is rather small, maybe with 20 sitting spots. However, the ceiling is quite high thus you don’t really feel trapped in there.
What Fathers Carpenters Coffe Bewers are proud of is their coffee, of course. The place was founded by Kresten Thogersen, a Melbournian, who bravely decided to bring Australia’s unique coffee culture to the German capital. Their coffee is one of the best I had in Berlin so far and the advantage is that you can also purchase one bag and enjoy it at home.
The menu card is simple & short, which I really liked. The worst thing you can do is to give your customers too many options. Tempted by deliciously-looking sandwiches I went for it with cappuccino, of course. Having been struggling with hangover that morning I needed something nutritious to start my day. I was really blown away by Black Forest Ham burger. Seasoning was delicious! To everything you order you will receive a glass bottle of water, especially cool during the hot summer days. However, their service can be really slow. It was disappointing that I had to wait more than 15 min for a coffee. It’s something that Fathers Carpenters Coffee Brewers should definitely work on!
Black Forest Hamburgers
Chipotle Poached Eggs
Cappuccino Cheescake
For those of you who prefer a sweet breakfast Fathers Carpenters Coffee Brewers offer croissants, pain au chocolait and cakes. On the top on my list is definitely cappuccino cheesecake. You have to try it! Combined with a cup of coffee it is a dream Saturday breakfast for any coffee addict… A hidden coffee paradise…

Overall
A beautiful hidden courtyard, delicious coffee & burger sandwiches plus, but industrial design makes Fathers Carpenters Coffee Brewers one of my favourite spots for brunch in Mitte.

I am glad for writing to make you understand what a beneficial encounter my daughter gained studying your web site. She learned many pieces, most notably how it is like to possess an excellent giving mindset to make others very easily understand some very confusing issues. You truly did more than our expected results. Thank you for presenting the powerful, healthy, informative and fun guidance on the topic to Lizeth.
